Bharatanatyam Tuition & Class Guidelines
Please review the guidelines below before enrolling in a Bharatanatyam class.
Tuition & Billing
Bharatanatyam group class tuition is $30 per student, per class, billed monthly. Monthly fees are due on the 1st of each month. Monthly tuition is calculated based on all scheduled classes in a given month, excluding Taalchemy-observed holidays.
Tuition for a student’s first month will be prorated based on the joining date.
Tuition reserves the student’s place in class for the month and is due in full regardless of individual attendance.
Class Attire
Students should attend class dressed in attire appropriate for Bharatanatyam instruction and movement.
Recommended attire is salwar kameez or kurta with leggings. Students should also bring two cotton dupattas: one to tie around the waist and another to drape across the torso. Students who wish to wear the dance practice sari may also do so. Long hair should be neatly tied back and secured for class.
Regular Practice
Bharatanatyam training benefits from regular practice outside of class. Students are expected to review class material during the week so they can build strength, memory, coordination, and confidence over time.
Practice videos or notes may be shared when appropriate to support at-home practice.
Attendance & Missed Classes
Students are expected to attend classes regularly. Taalchemy's Bharatanatyam class enrollment is based on the annual September-June schedule, therefore temporary month-to-month pauses are not supported.
Because group classes progress together, Taalchemy does not offer refunds, credits, or makeup classes for group lessons missed by a student.
When appropriate, Taalchemy may provide material from the lesson for the student to review at home. Any such support is offered at Taalchemy’s discretion and is not a substitute for attending class.
Students with frequent absences or inconsistent practice habits will not be eligible for recitals.
Holidays & Breaks
Taalchemy shares a holiday calendar each year with planned class closures and breaks. If a scheduled class falls on a Taalchemy-observed holiday, that class will not be billed.
Regular group classes are generally paused from mid-June through August. Summer classes may be offered separately.
Withdrawal Policy
If a student wishes to withdraw from a group class, written notice must be provided at least two weeks before the start of the next billing month. Tuition already due or paid for the notice period is non-refundable.
