Bharatanatyam Tuition & Class Guidelines
Updated June 2026
Please review the guidelines below before enrolling in a Bharatanatyam class.
Enrollment & Annual Registration Fee
A non-refundable annual registration fee of $25 per student is due at the time of enrollment and each September thereafter.
To confirm enrollment for a new student, the completed enrollment form, annual registration fee, and first month’s tuition are due to reserve the student’s place in class.
New students enrolling between January–August will not be charged the registration fee again in September of the same year.
Tuition & Billing
Taalchemy offers ongoing weekly Bharatanatyam classes throughout the year.
Monthly tuition is $115 per student. Tuition is based on an average of four scheduled classes per month. Some months may include five classes, while others may include three due to holidays or calendar variations. For ease of billing, families pay a consistent monthly tuition, with the overall number of classes balancing out over the course of the year.
A new student’s first month of tuition will be prorated based on their start date. After the first month, tuition is due on the 1st of each month. Payments received after the 7th of the month will incur a $10 late fee.
Ongoing monthly tuition reserves the student’s continued participation in class and is due in full regardless of individual attendance.
Class Attire
Students should attend class dressed in attire appropriate for Bharatanatyam instruction and movement.
Appropriate attire is salwar kameez, long kurta with leggings, or dance practice sari. Students should also bring two cotton dupattas: one to tie around the waist and another to drape across the torso. hair should be neatly tied back and secured for class.
Regular Practice
Bharatanatyam training benefits from regular practice outside of class. Students are expected to practice at home during the week so they can build strength, memory, coordination, and confidence over time.
Attendance & Missed Classes
Missed classes are not eligible for refunds, credits, or guaranteed makeup lessons.
When feasible, Taalchemy may share class notes or practice guidance to help students stay current with the material.
If a suitable alternative class becomes available, a makeup opportunity may be offered at Taalchemy’s discretion. Makeup classes are not guaranteed.
Holidays & Breaks
Taalchemy shares a holiday calendar each year with planned class closures and breaks.
Withdrawal Policy
If a student wishes to withdraw from a class, written notice must be provided at least 30 days before the student’s intended withdrawal date.
Tuition already due or paid for the notice period is non-refundable.
